
It is not unusual for people to turn to alcohol for relief from their anxiety and panic. The problem with doing that however is that alcohol can actually make your anxiety & panic worse!
Because alcohol is a depressant, it will take off the edge for some people. Others, however, notice their panic symptoms increase with alcohol. In either case, alcohol usually produces “rebound anxiety” – that is, the next day you are likely to feel even more anxious.
